Meet the Pastor
I was reared on a grain farm in South-Central Illinois. When I was eight years old a missionary from the Philippines was visiting our church. After he presented the truth of the Gospel, I called upon the Lord to save me from my sin. Upon graduating High School, I attended one year of Bible College and then returned to my home town to pursue all “My” desires. After years of wrestling with God I returned to Bible College and then Graduate School to continue my formal education. Through the preaching of God’s Word in a Mission’s Conference, I surrendered my will to God, to do whatever He wanted with my life. Since that day I have had a burning desire to preach the Word of God and to serve Him. The twelve years of youth ministry and over twenty as senior pastor have been a gift from the Lord. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” As I look back over the years of ministry, I can honestly say, Jesus has kept His word.
Allow me to extend to you a personal invitation to visit Calvary Baptist Church. Our church family will welcome you as you come through the doors and they too desire that you experience an abundant life with Christ.

Blessed Reconciliation
“17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Missionary
“My own heart yearns for key souls to be saved, who will in turn reach many others within their respective ethnic groups. I will not give the names here, but there are specific people I am praying for to be saved, whose personalities and diligence, presently harnessed for a false god or gods suggest that they could be faithful servants of the Lord someday, if led to the Light.”

Common Questions
What is a typical service like?
A typical service starts with greetings and announcements; followed by call to worship verses, which are read to prepare our hearts. We sing traditional hymns together, have congregational prayer, and give our tithes and offerings to the Lord. Finally, a message is brought from God’s Holy Word and an opportunity is given to respond to the Spirit’s leading at the close of the service.
What do you offer for my children?
A nursery is available for infants to 3-year-olds. Parents are welcome to take advantage of our nursery or keep your little ones with you during the service.
On Sunday mornings, after the singing, prayer and offering, children are dismissed to Children’s Church where a message is brought to reach the hearts of the young ones.
On Thursdays, we have Bible Clubs, where the children are taught lessons from God’s Word. They enjoy fun time and games and end with refreshments.
